Bom Jogo

Um bom jogo, precisa de muita paciencia para vencer.

Big Disappointment

Game is an orphaned child. A waste of money. Game seems to randomly change or ignore player's selected moves. Apple needs to do a better job culling out of date apps from the store.

don't buy

This game has been abandoned and is almost unplayable. I would go as far as calling this a scam. You aren't able to expand or update at all. Don't waste your money like I did. Devs can't do anything since this is IOS; shame on people letting their consumers buying broken games.

How do you buy DLC?

I like the game well enough, but they advertise the dlc as in app purchase. Well where is it?

Constant Crashes

hello, i recently decided to start playing this game again after a few years. my problem is that after setting up the game, it crashes. No matter what I do, it crashes right after set-up and does not start. Can someone fix this issue?

Deeply confused by the bad reviews

This is my favorite game in the Civilization universe, and it isn't even close. It takes Alpha Centauri, a great game, and adds pretty much boilerplate Civ features that we know and love. I found it incredibly intuitive, massively replayable, and it's the first game I've been able to really get into for years. Are there some absolutely ridiculous UI decisions? Yes - the tech tree being non zoomable is... I just don't understand why that choice was made. But, these dumb things sneak into even the best games. I was able to understand, play and win in my first game, and had a great time doing it. So - if you like the theme, and you like Civ games, and you've got the money - buy this.

Dual Monitor Issue

No matter what I do, this game refuses to move to my larger display and will only play on my laptop's screen. I never even got to play this game since it won't display properly,.

Fun butt way to many bugs

I've always enjoyed the Civilization games, and this one was no different. That being said, I'm truly disapointed in the developement team on this version. That is why I gave two stars. Here are a list of issues that I've come across after just 10 hours of game play. *Game graphics won't load up 80% of the time. *Game freezes at odd intervals during the game. *Has no AutoSave function Now those are just the few I've come across in just a short amount of time. I personally would either have a complete refund or a fix to the game that actually wroks.

How I miss Alpha Centauri

This is almost like it, but the game is not as robust as Alpha Centauri was. That said, I still enjoy playing it. I would have given it four stars, but with the latest Big Sur release, you can no longer play the game in full screen. Hopefuly there will be an update.

Orbital view crashes that go back years from reading

Games great, but it crashes when you get a lot of satelites up and try orbital view. When I was reading on it an interesting post came up. The poster said it happened at turn 1161 on marathon, biggest view map. That is when the problem started happening for me. Was right after turn 1161. I changed resolution and am running radeon pro 580x 8 GB graphics and the system has 16 GB of ram. That comment I read was from 5 years ago with many others complaining of orbital view crashing. By now you should have that bug fixed, so that is why I give the 2 stars. I would 5 star the game otherwise but it breaks at my favorite part and you all have not fixed the break =-( Did not crash once up till this point.

Good, everything is good. But the loading screen...

The game is pretty good kinda similar to Command and Conquer but this game’s loading screen takes forever to load, literally.

Great but not for everyone

I personaly perfer Civ 5 altought this is a great game it just needs a little bit more time to grow on you. it is a bit more complicated than other civs but I found myself geting a hold of it very fast. Ps: the atmosphere is a little depresing

What the hell

Hey you know what would be cool? if this game didn’t crash unexpectidly all the time. It would be cool if the game wasn't consistatly erasing hundreds of moves, dozens oper turn, and hours of progress regularly. that would be cool but thats not the case.

A poorly reskinned version of regular civ

This game works well with my 2017 MacBook Pro trackpad, which I was pleased with. My computer just meets the minimum system requirements, and I had no problems running the game. So far I’ve only used the single player mode. I’ve gotten a lot of enjoyable hours of gameplay out of the game, but after a while too many things got on my nerves and I stopped playing. The sound effects are bad. The interface is clunky. The sci-fi story elements are weak. Lots of things about the game seem hastily imagined and constructed.

Don’t waste your money

Total waste of money!

If you played Alpha Centauri, you’ll like this game (but it crashes)

After about 40 hours of gameplay, I have finally decided to write a review. This game plays just like any Civ patform, but it reminds me of how much fun I had playing Alpha Centauri (but this version is FAR more complex). I am absolutely frustrated with the Tech Tree view (non-scalable) IE you cannot get a “big picture” of the entire tree. Also, if you want to save yourself some frustration in gameplay, take your time and study the factions and become familiar with the units, resources, and technologies. All of the other variables (diplomacy, battle mode etc) will be similar to previous Civ engines. I do have to admit, this game has crashed on me several times LATE in the game! I modified my autosave to save after each turn (and I manually save after a significant event). I would have rated this game 4 stars if it wouldn’t crash so often.

Game Doesn’t Work, Shows Intro Video & Then Exits

Anyone know how I can ask for my money back? Purchased the game on 9/8 and have went back and forth with Aspyr support via email trying to fix it to get it loaded. Last they said is there was nothing they could do about it and to contact who sold it to me from the APP store. Well I thought I bought it from Apsyr who I’ve been talking to in support. Help! This game doesn’t work, just plays the intro and then aborts. I’m glad some people can play it and it works as it looks to be a neat game but I have the proper hardware and the software just crashes. Good luck to anyone else purchasing because I just flushed some cash.

Stick with Civ 5

As everyone else says, this game requires a massive learning experience in order to get the hang of it. Personally I dealt with it, no biggie. Quotes could have been better, I loved how Civ 5 stuck wth actual history. I'm a technology junkie, thats the only reason this game peeked my interest. That and I'm a Civ 5 fan. But this game needs a massive update. No not DLC, but an update. As everyone who plays any Civ knows, this game can easily take you to 400+ turns. But after you get to a certain point the game starts to glitch out. My stopping point was when I couldn’t even go to satellite mode anymore around round 480. Everytime I did, the game crashed, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Get your stuff together and push out a patch to fix this problem or i will never buy another Civ game again.

Lots of fun. An interesting game with nice eye candy.

I purchased this game because I am a player of the original DOS based version called Alpha Centauri. I wasn’t disappointed. I also purchased the Rising Tide and map set adding to this game, they definitely make it better. The only thing I miss about the old Alpha Centauri game is the cool video clips, artwork and animations when completing technology research. In this game a quote appears and is spoken when you achieve new tech. For some reason, this game reminds me of the holographic chess game played by R2D2 and Chewbacca in the original Star Wars movie, the athestic is very similar which is cool. A couple of years later I’m still playing this game wheen I have the time for it. I always have one or two games saved that I can go back to at my convenience. There is a bug I’ve recently encountered: late in the game when I try launching a Phasal Transporter over an annexed city the game crashes (tried it several times.) Maybe once the city is out of the civil unrest phase I will then be able to place the phasal transporter over it. Come out with an upgrade to this game!

Long term play for me

I absolutely love this game. The game does have a steep learning curve I agree. But that’s why l liked it. It was challenging to figure out the “New Frontier”.. I just ended up modifying my stradegy. I admit before the last expansion, which is a must, it kinda sucked. Dark and depressing, but the expansion lightened everything up with variety. Also, Who wants to play the same game remade year after year with new editions? I think the complaints are from people who didn’t really “get it” which is cool. I especially loved this game after “Rising Tide” expansion. Way cooler after that. I’ve been playing civ games since they came out and enjoyed the variation. If you are a peacful person then turn off the Domination victory. It chills everyone out. If you like it rough then turn every other victory off but Domination haha! You can call me a moron all ya want but I’ve already enjoyed the exsistance of this game and plan on it for years to come.

Amazing and Creative!

I did not buy this game at first because of reviews but now wish I had purchased it sooner. It is brilliantly creative and, now that Civilization 6 is out, it is clear to see that some of the ideas that fueled the changes between Civ 5 and 6 were born here. For example, the culture system is closer to Civ 5 yet some of the military units are purely support units like those in Civ 6. In addition, many elements are the same as Civ 5 and/or 6 but rebranded with a new name. For example, money was renamed energy and, instead of keeping your people happy through luxury goods, you must keep your people healthy by building terrain improvements and buildings. As your population grows, your health may be negatively affected, like happiness is in other Civ games. The terrain is riddled with something called miasma, which is essentially the nuclear fall-out in Civ 5 and must be removed by workers or else units passing through will receive a slight, but not horrible, health penalty. It is important to note however, that not all tiles have miasma on them and as you progress through the tech-web, your units become immune to the miasma. The biggest change is the technology tree. It is set up like a spider web, starting in the middle and working your way out in any direction possible. It is complex but not complicated. It just takes a few moments to read what researching a technology will unlock and having the forsight to look ahead at other technologies further off to decide which way you want to travel in the "tech web.” Diplomacy is also a bit different. You earn diplomacy points which you trade to other leaders in exchange for some of their unique traits or abilities or you use the points to enhance your own traits and abilities. The developer did a good job utilizing the fact you are starting out in the future and on a foreign planet. For example, if you have the expansion and build a city on the water, you can actually build farms in the surrounding water, which is something that could be plausible in the far future. There are also alien species which typically start out more neutral but as you attack them and destroy/pillage their nests, become more hostile. They are quite varied in size and strength as well. There is also a technology you can research that allows certain units to tame aliens and place them under your control. The graphics and terrain are very unique and when I play, I see things I feel could exist on a foreign, unknown planet. Finally, as a side note, I enjoy that you choose an “organization/faction” as opposed to an existing country from Earth. In my opinion, it is more plausible that it would be corportations in the future with the money and resources to fund future settlements on other planets, and not countries. Every organization is new and fresh with their own unique traits.

Crashes Repeatedly, Mostly

I like the game, but only when I can play it. I have to go through a series of re-boots and false starts before I can get the game to run. Once it is running there is no problem. I’m running at lowest resolution with nothing else running in the background except essentials.

Extremely fun!

This game is so freaking fun! OK, so obviously there is a learning curve. If you are looking for a simple iPhone style game where you only use like 3 buttons or gestures, this is not the game for you. Expect to have to study the online wiki a bit to get good at the game. The intricacy and randomness keep things fresh each game. For example, I reloaded a saved game and made like 3 different moves than before and the AI responded completely differently and attacked me much earlier than before. I think of it as a very, very elaborate game of chess. I am the nerdy sort, and I use this as a way to unwind in med school. Anyways, different people have their different preferences, but if long intricate games are your thing I recommend this one.

Why this game is the way it is

Its quite apparent from the other reviews that many of these people have not played SM Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire. This version integrates and modernizes that game. Many of the features are exactly the same as Civilzation V. That seems a bit lazy on the developers part. The tech web is interesting, and again makes sense to those that have played Alpha Centauri and Alien Crossfire. I was a fan of the old series and was wondering how it would be revived. Its done nicely, in my opinion. I have not yet pleyed the expansion; I look forward to doing so.

total garbage

I’ve played various iterations of the Civilization games for years, literally thousands of hours, and this version of Civilization: Beyond Earth, v1.1.4 is total garbage. It crashes continuously, often before a single turn can be played. It was really, really stable until this last update which has been a total disaster. It is anti-fun to play this game. Do not plunk down $40 for v1.1.4. November 2016 Update - Installed Sierra and now the, “artifacts,” can no longer be viewed or interacted with.

Shame on you Firaxis….

September 1, 2016 2-Star Update: Many many crazy hours later just to see if this was me and I could like it or not and …….NO! Went from three star to two because I just have a hard time giving a one star based on the fact that some hours went into making it, I think. This game feels like a developer wanted to control you and how you play. No choices really. *No way to place your first settler anywhere you want. *Don’t go that way or I will kill whatever unit you are using to explore with. *If you won’t fight the developer makes you fight. Why? Why not have a way to explore and build new settlement(s) which you would think Beyond Earth would be. Question to Developers here: Why make a game for other people (not just you and a few agreeing friends) that does not allow the player to play how they want or how they naturally flow with it? This is the epitomy of why some games just fail badly and become hated. Look at other games and learn from them as this is a game that makes me feel like I am reliving the developers dream and not creating my own. Obviously I do not care to live inside someones elses restricting dream. If you like to be told what to do every step of the way, this game is for you. If you want to explore and feel like you are going Beyond Earth, don’t buy this for sure! I am a big fan of Civ since first playing it at my brothers many, many years ago. Thank you to him for sharing that with me. I gave 3 stars because I can see the potential and the, "Shame on you Firaxis”, comment comes from the disappointment I felt after playing the game. Firaxis should be putting out a polished Civ game but instead made me feel like they are getting their formula together and are new at this. What I mean by that is this, why oh why is there a time’s/turns up factor in this new game that we should be allowed to explore and accomplish something in before the time’s up? Winning and Loosing don’t feel like they have a meaning when time is up and you won or lost based on that. Civ 5 was almost perfect, thus I expected the new game (Beyond Earth) to be just that only in space on other planets. Instead I feel like this game was released with planned bugs and limitations so that the next DLC can unlock those issues for you and make it better but wait, give it a few more years and wham we may have a Civ 5 feel and flow to this game. Is that necessary? With the 500 turns in play, it really makes this system broken since you don’t have a true victory goal. You can go immediately for the victory goal and still win or you can just go for all quests and keep on building etc. until 500 turns are up and based on the randon number generator the game favors you or the A.I. Mostly you depending on your ease of level. I don’t like the cosmetic feel when you are in the build screen and your mouse goes over things as you look to pick your next build. The information gets in the way of seeing what you want to pick. That’s a little thing and it is annoying just the same. Understanding that you have 500 turns has you picking things that are immediately usable in relation to how many turns you have left. Knowing how to skew the game kinda breaks it. Why not concentrate on new maps, new alien leaders with better expiditions and quests and fixing the time/turns constraint that makes you feel like you aren’t sure what just happened? Be a truly Universal game and allow the planets to be inhabited by aliens that are not prehistoric like and instead perhaps they show us how things are done. Give us alien trading posts. Let my leader/sponsor come from Jupiter or Saturn. Give me some sic-fi fun in this. Just imagine a Civ Star Wars. Think about it. Love the easier way to buy land around your city by the by. I purchased this game when it came out and have taken this long to explore it based on the funky feel and awkward flow it has. I will continue to explore and test things out just because I love Civ and Civ-like games. If something comes along to change my mind I will update this review. I have found myself going back to Civ 5 now and then. There is potential here and I am waiting for it to manifest. Come on Firaxis, make me want that “One more turn”. *Note: I have never experienced this game crashing on me nor have I had slowness issues and my iMac is from 2011. After playing for a long time I do get the black map slowness as it adjusts graphics but that is it and I don’t always see that. ****Update: So I noticed that you get 500 turns no matter what. Ok unless you turn on turns which kills the victories.

Love it

Adore the new concepts and civilizations.

game keeps crashing

Has anyone else been experiencing this while playing? My computer is all up to date and I don’t know what else to do,I have uninstalled and install the game several times, but it steals crashes on me. It’s very frustrating

It’s actually great

I put off buying this because of all of the low ratings. I had low expectations. I love it. I understand why people might not like it. It is complex, it’s not as intuitive as the other Civilization titles. A big part of it is that in classic CIv, you are dealing with technology and resources that already exist, so a big part of understanding the game’s strategy comes naturally. In this game, you have to learn. But other than that, it’s excellent. I love its complexity. There are so many more dimensions to gameplay. Civ V is my favorite game but this game is absolutely more complex. There are new forms of narrative, new goals, new assets.. also beautifully put together as always. I am happy to have spent the $40. Even if you don’t like it, you have to admit that it is exceptionally well put together.

Middle of the road game

This game is pretty middle of the road. I wasn’t a huge civilization fan anyway, but this just doesn’t seem to get it quite right. You’ll need to play about halfway through your first game in order to get the hang of how this works. Game also takes a really long time to load, you’ll think it is hanging, but really it’s just taking 5 minutes to load a map, very odd. This is true even though I have a solid state drive. My computer can boot in 15 seconds, but it takes minutes to start Beyond Earth, some sort of bug is going on here.

Brilliant

This game is complex and rich with strategic gameplay. If you’ve played CIV as long as I have you’ll appreciate the three custom affinities that shape your civilization’s unit options, building type, and bonuses. Upgrading the same units over time makes watching units evolve and invests you in guarding kills. The environment is lush and pushes a nice computer on HD settings, but it’s worth watching the alien life lurk in the fog of war. I just beat the game on every difficulty level. The easiest setting is an arcade version where you can’t click to far from victory yet the hard settings push each weapon in your arsenal from your army, to diplomacy, to specializing your own society for conquest or peace. Enjoy!

eh… Don’t do it...

I know im just echoing other reviews, but this game is needlessly complicated & involves a massive learning curve before you can really start to enjoy it. I really wanted to love it, and I honestly gave it a shot thinking that I’d get the hang of it, but there is just no way this holds up to a great game like Civ5. While there are a few really clever ideas, It is not intuitive like a normal Civ game becuase it involves building a world based on speculative technology as opposed to the tried and true tech that we know and understand from history. I can see that a lot of work has gone into this, and it looks great, but I am ultimatly dissapointed & I regret the purchase. The true test came after 1 month of buying the game - when I felt the itch to play civ one day. I went to open Civ BE when I looked over at that lonely Civ5 icon in the corner of my screen. I finally decided to throw inthe towel on Civ BE and go back to Civ5. It was like a breath of fresh air - and I’ll never go back. I’ll never go back to the future. (who am I kidding… I’ll buy what ever they release lol)

Extremely unstable later in the game

I can never get to a point where I can complete the game. After around 200 turns the game becomes very unstable and crashes about every 2 or 3 turns. It’s very frustrating. I’ve played it on two different iMac computers and it’s the same on both. This version is the worst they’ve released. Do not buy it/upgrade until they release some stability fixes.

I Regret It

I ignored the negative reviews and now wish I hadn’t. Civ 5 is definitely superior, this is really just a remasking of that game and WAY more confusing. Significantly more confusing, in fact, so much so that I ended up just researching random stuff because the tech ‘tree’ is now a ‘web’ that is incredibly hard to navigate. Save the money and wait for Civ 7. This really was disappointing.

Keeps Crashing - DONT BUY

Bought this the other day and it crashing just after a few minutes repeatedly. I have not been even able to do a simple play through. I recommend DO NOT BUY until they actualy make the game playable.

Don not work no more

With the new update the game do not work no more. But i did love the game.

Aspyr Customer Support Horrible for Civ Beyond Earth

I bought Civ: Beyond Earth and the Rising Tide expansion a few months ago. Worked fine with Yosemite OS X. But with upgrade to El Capitan Rising Tides became unplayable due to video issue (stretched mountain terrain). After several atempts to work this through with Aspyr support — they kept saying it would perhaps take three months — they started asking via email if I was satisfied with their resolution. Totally unacceptable. And what will Apple do about this lack of response for an app it sold? PS: My Aspyr request was numbered 76290 and first raised with them on Nov 26. Aspire won’t even let me lok in to see status of request.

Great expansion…still crashes

No major issues with the game itself, it’s five star worthy and overall worth the price. However, it still has the random crashes when deploying sattelites to the oribtal screen that has been present since launch of the original game. This is exacerbated on larger maps with more factions interacting with the orbital layer. If you play small teams on small maps, you may never run across it. I will note that it does crash less than before and it’s more random. Two stars deducted with regards to Aspyr and lack of feedback and resolution on major playability issues like this.

Very Slow

Very disappointed in this game so far, the graphics are nice but i cant even do anything in the game because it takes forever for anything to load. The game start up took atleast 5 minutes then when i finally started a new game it took atleast 2 minutes for the first city to drop in place then it frooze completely. Hoping these issues are fixed soon.

Doesn’t Work. Dont buy it.

Does not work since OS update. It was fun before then. Don’t spend your money on it yet.

errors in your scripting causing crash problems

I was psychd about this game. I like playing civ games. and there’s nothing wrong or bad about it… except that it crashes everytime I play it.. :c hopefully the bug is fixed soon. I spent $40 on this.I COULD OF BOUGHT A LOT OF MUSIC WITH THAT. ;-; and it crashes randomly for me. I haven’t had the luxury of getting past the first tech advancement.

update

I have had Beyond Earth for a few years now, I love the game and play it and other versions of Civ. Beyond Earth was working fine never crashing until now after I installed the latest update, now the game will not even open! So at this moment I am going to Civ Beyond Earth support!

Amazing… when it doesn’t crash

I’ve been playing ever since the first Civilizations… This one is great but has one large bug. Using certain Satellites still causes the game to crash… Was hoping the 5 gb update would help (what ever happened to delta loads?) but sadly still stuck. Since the last comment is from june about the satellites… it is a little sad that nothing has been done about it. Load screen takes way too long… Besides those two major issues the game really is worth it… Just not until they are fixed…

I LOVE THIS GAME

The updaate to Beyond Earth is nothing short of genius to me. Beyond earth was pretty good, but I still preferred to play CIV V until this new expansion. They added a lot of new elements, diplomacy and some cool new alien creatures, untils and Civ. It’s been hours of fun. Definitley get this update, even if you were a little disappointed in the first release.

Very Buggy

Starting with the rising tide expansion (which is needed to make game play worth while at all) use of the orbital layer cause the application to fataly crash, now that the fix has been pushed out the application crashes no more then 15 seconds into a saved game. Until this is fixed this is a complete waste of money as the game so boring with out the expanded game play the expansion offers, even then much is needed to make this a viable experance.

A Fantastic Addition…That Needs Some Additions

First of all, congrats to Aspyr for creating a beautiful addition to the Civ world. The new sea terrain is gorgeous, deep and shallow waters teeming with life and resources are beautifully done. (Aditionally, the submersible explorer unit for excavating is a nice touch!). This expansion offers a ton of new developments: political capital, artifact research, a trade revamp, and floating cities just to name a few, but there are still some issues that need addressing. The Great: - New graphics! They are good enough that I’m tempted to upgrade my system just for this game. - The diplomatic traits. These new powerful political traits are game changing, and further negate the urge to behave badly with other worldly powers. Some may need some revisiting however, the +12 science/culture per trade at the top tier of the political trait is a HUGE boost. - Trade vessel tweak - no more incessant renewing of your trades! The auto-renew option was sorely needed. - Artifacts - some expeditions from an alien nest, old settlement, alien fossil, or downed craft result in the discovery of artifacts, which can be used toward big gains and discoveries. The Good: - More! - Civilizations, units, wonders. All good, but I want more. - Floating cities - ‘nuff said. - Political opinion screen - There’s a new little popup screen that that informs you when another Civ is happy or unhappy about something. It’s really nice to know exactly WHY you are making friends or enemies beyond warmaking and virtue sharing. - New virtue upgrade system is good, however slightly clunky still The Bad: - The endgame. - It’s still in need of some serious addressing. The other civs contact you relentlessly for trade opportunities but seem oblivious to your victory status. As the turns are winding down toward a victory condition there should be a global crescendo of some sort. Leaders should be trying to sabotage the project, or declare war. At the very least there should be some discussion about the massive global event that will soon occur. This goes both ways, if another Civ is nearing a victory, your advisors should be freaking out! which brings me too… - No advisors! - Sure, there are little icons on the tech tree and building/unit list list with recommendations, but I miss the advisors from past Civ series. - The participation award - upon a victory (or defeat) there’s sorely little reward: a trite cutscene with narration and no real replay. The beatuiful cinematic scene that opens the game should have a set of equally impressive counterparts that culminate it. It is a serious letdown after hours of gameplay. So all in all, the game is quite good. It is. It would just be so much better if the player were a bit more immersed in the experience.

Update brings needed fixes to a great game.

Party like it’s 1999! At least, that’s what I thought when this update to Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri was announced. Seeing that the first update to CIV: BE also produces similar changes to the game as did Alpha’s, I wondered what’s the point? Gorgeous graphics and ambient creepiness make this the best looking and sounding CIV game ever—that’s the point! But I still prefer the mechanics of CIV IV to CIV II+ (aka CIV V) and this, "Alpha Centauri” on steroids. Finally, the aspect ratio of the loading screens have been fixed on my MBP. Yes, that’s you get when you upgrade until you buy the DLC. But that’s a separate story (and I’ll update this review accordingly).

Civilization with no soul

It’s just hollow. I can’t care about any of my cities or units because there is absolutely no personality to this game. I’ll play Civ V or Civ IV any day over this. The tech web in BE is inscrutable and has nothing tying it to any future technology scenario for reference. Disappointed.

Give it a shot.

It’s a great game if you let yourself enjoy it on its terms. Don’t prejudge it or bring expectations.

Good but needs work

IOt’s a fun game. but the tech tree needs to be balanced a bit better, and the trading/resource/diplomacy system needs review and tweaking. there’s no real use for many of the resources in the same way that luxury resources in Civ V have. Hopefully 1.1 will fix these game flaws.
